Welcome to Professor Tom’s Substack!

Currently, I am reading through the 2020 World Book Encyclopedia in the spirit of A. J. Jacobs’ The Know-It-All: One Man’s Humble Quest to Become the Smartest Person in the World.

I will also focus on the pivotal events of 20th Century American History and the formative years of Early United States History. This includes the topic of Wester Civilization, particularly looking at how ancient history and European history gave rise to the ideas that helped found the United States, so don’t be surprised to see Greeks, Romans, the Renaissance, The Age of Science, The Age of Reason and The Age of Enlightenment appear in this newsletter.

My mission is to make history accessible and interesting to everyone, whether you're a history buff, a student, or just curious about the world around you. I believe that understanding our past is key to navigating our present and future.

And in the Better Every Day section, I write inspiring, introspective and reflective posts for how we can improve our lives day by day.

Join me on this enlightening journey through time, as we uncover the stories, the people, and the events that have woven the fabric of our history. Subscribe to ProfessorTom’s Substack and be a part of this exciting adventure!
